Job Title: Sr. Design Engineer / Project Manager

Job Description:
KCI has an immediate opening for a eight to fifteen year Professional Engineer (PE) who specializes in transportation planning and design (six to eleven years as a PE in Texas). The successful candidate will manage and grow a design team(s) that is engineering a variety of transportation projects including advanced planning and schematic design, as well as preparing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E). Responsibilities to include project management, scheduling, budgeting, planning and design of transportation projects. Leadership of design staff and marketing ability are essential. Must be able to initiate contacts with existing and potential clients and assist in building client relationships and business development activities. Must possess a reasonable knowledge of the engineering consulting industry, and be solution oriented. Must have strong skills in leadership, communication, project management, and client interaction. Must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks. Will be responsible for estimating fees, determining scope of work, preparing proposals and contracts on large or multiple projects.
Qualifications:
BS/MS of Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
PE certification is required.
Minimum of eight years relevant experience on TxDOT roadway/drainage and utility projects
Working experience with Microstation and GEOPAK is required.
Familiarity with the following software a Plus-
HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SureTrak, Raster Manager
TxDOT precertification is required (or within six months).
Working knowledge of hydraulics/hydrology design/analysis a plus.
Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
Team player who is committed to professional development.
Excellent written and verbal skills are essential.
