Job Description:
KCI has immediate openings for an entry level to four year Engineer-In-Training (EIT) wanting to specialize in transportation planning and design. The successful candidates will be part of a design team that is engineering a variety of transportation projects including advanced planning and schematic design, as well as preparing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E). Responsibilities to include design production of transportation projects in accordance with good engineering practice; calculating quantity estimates, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-section development, drainage design, working with digital terrain models, and designing traffic control plans; coordinating and scheduling work to meet project goals on time and budget; coordinate with engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet project objectives. May occasionally supervise and schedule work of other team members.
Qualifications:
BS/MS of Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
EIT certification is required.
Working knowledge of Microstation and GEOPAK is preferred.
Familiarity with the following software a Plus-
HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SureTrak, Raster Manager
Previous transportation experience (including internships) is preferred.
Previous work experience with TxDOT projects a plus.
Working knowledge of hydraulics/hydrology design/analysis a plus.
Strong time management skills.
